I didn't post about the weekend!
Saturday: returned the oysters to be deposited in the river at Ft. Carroll. When we came home part of the boulevard was blocked off for a block party thing, so we walked down to check it out. There was a blues band playing, and they had Heavy Seas there and other vendors, so we got a Powder Monkey and walked around. The Tilted Pig was doing dollar pulled pork sliders as a special for the afternoon so we stopped and ate and listened to the DJ playing all the summer block party hits.
"Summertime" Will Smith
"Get Up Offa That Thang" James Brown
You know them.
The last band was the B-More Brass and Let The Monkey Go, which features a number of members of Parliament. They were awesome, as we're the group of older men dancing to everything.

Amirah and I went in costume and tons of pictures were taken. (particularly one mans daughter who gets bullied at school by boys telling her Dr.Who is for boys. He wanted a picture of us to show her that it is for girls and other girls even dress up for it.) I didn't come home with anything but pictures from the show, too. There just wasn't anything in the affordable I needed to have, which was good since we are going on vacation in a couple weeks. I saw some artwork and stuff I liked, but I am not in the major purchase market right this minute.
Monday was awful. I am planning to really overhaul my résumé and get to hunting because the company just isn't seeming to go anywhere. There's a promotional event tomorrow though, and that might help things. We will see.
I called the winemaking supply company today to ask about something missing from the website, and I'm glad I did because I found out the Fall Seasonal wine supply kits have to be ordered in June. So I'm waiting on an email about the cost and delivery times of the Toasted Caramel Port for fall. On the other hand we are floundering between ordering the Black Raspberry Merlot and the Blueberry Shiraz for summer...
Transferred the wine this evening!
Wow, since before Christmas! I am lame.
I gave my mother the scarves I made for Mother's Day early because I will have to work next Sunday on Mother's Day proper, and she was sort of bewildered at first. I wasn't sure she liked them, then after she wore one for a little bit, I got orders for 2 more. So they went over well after all.

If you go into a major art museum that displays Europe's great oil paintings, you'll find that virtually every masterpiece is surrounded by an ornate wooden frame, often painted gold. Why? To me, the enclosure is distracting and unnecessary. Why can't I just enjoy the arresting composition on the naked canvas, unburdened by the overwrought excess? I urge you to take my approach in the coming weeks, Aries. Push and even fight to get the goodies exactly as they are, free of all the irrelevant filler, extraneous buffers, and pretentious puffery.
